Colossians 1:9-12 | Live A God-Worthy Life (Part 2)

Feb 18, 2024    Pastor Karel Castro

In part two of a two sermon series, Pastor Karel shows us from the Word of God that a life worthy of the Lord is not a static state, but a dynamic journey of growth and gratitude. First, believers bear fruit. This refers not to self-made achievements, but to the good works that naturally flow from a heart aligned with God's will. These works, like acts of love and service, demonstrate the transformative power of God's grace in our lives. Second, believers grow in God's knowledge. This growth is fueled by studying His Word, the Bible. By regularly reading and meditating on Scripture, we gain deeper understanding and wisdom, enabling us to make choices that honor God and navigate life's challenges with a godly perspective. Third, believers mature spiritually. As we walk with God and depend on His Word, He equips us with steadfastness and patience. These qualities allow us to persevere through trials, endure suffering with a positive attitude, and demonstrate the resilience of a life rooted in faith. Finally, believers give thanks. Gratitude is not just an occasional feeling, but a constant attitude that acknowledges God's provision and recognizes that all we have is a gift from Him. This contrasts with the ungratefulness of unbelievers who don't recognize God's in their lives.

Living a God-worthy life is not about achieving perfection, but about continually striving to grow, depending on God's grace, and expressing gratitude for His blessings. This sermon serves as a powerful reminder that this journey of transformation is open to all who choose to follow Christ.
